12th May 2011 – The aquisition

I’ve gone and done it.

After investigating the Edinburgh Bike Shed, I’ve picked up a lovely Holdsworth 1970 Claud Butler Super Coureur touring bike – soon to be turned into a slightly more revamped road bike.

Its my intention to upgrade this solid and reliable bike frame to make it more rugged for the coming Charity Ride, but all original parts are going to be carefully stored with the intention of restoring this beauty back to all of its original glory.

Reynolds 531 steel tubing with decorative welded lugs, metallic aquamarine paint finish, Suntour 5 speed rear gear set, Shimano Deore front gear set, original compagnolo pedals, Weinmann brakes and levers complete with suicide bars. 700c x 25 tyres on aluminium square edged clincher wheels, an orginal brooks leather saddle, working dynamo set and pannier. £100.

Lovely.
